12th release of 4subculture Records will be debut album of Aussie pack All in Brawl....you can buy it on www.4subculture.com

1. Hi so at first tell us something about your band, members, history and how you met each other?

All In Brawl started out about 2 years ago, it started as 4 guys who came up with a cool name and wanted to play in a band, but who had no musical talent at all. Thomo and I decided to do it properly and pretty much kicked everyone bar myself out of the band. We had Thomo on bass, Johno on guitar and Jack on drums with me (Kuhny) singing. Late last year Johno left and we got Jacob playing guitar with us now. We all know each other through the scene here in Canberra, and Jack and Thomo also play in Eye-Gouge!

2. When and why came decision to start All in Brawl and why that name? It is first band for your members or did they play somewhere before?

Hahaha our mate and first 'drummer' thought up the name, but he couldnt actually play drums so we started the band without him. We liked the name cos it sortve represented what we wanted to sound like - angry, violent and uncontrollable haha. It is my first band, but the other guys have all played in bands before.

3. You had logo CCHC...which stands for Canberra City Hard Core...what are your musical influences? Mainly Oi! or HC bands?

Its a bit of both to be honest - me and Thomo both get into a lot of oi and hardcore while Jack and Jacob get into a bit of everything. I think as far as influences go - we go for that crossover sound sorts like 86 Mentality, Negative Approach and the harder oi bands like 4Skins and Combat 84.

4. In 2010 you released 4 songs demo CD which was sent to me by Pat from Pug Music and now you are releasing full length on Czech label 4Subculture Records so tell us something about the cooperation with this label....

It all happened so quickly, we didn´t even know Pat had sent any out. We were tossing up maybe putting out our own 7" or CD just to try and get our name out there and then we got an email from Michal asking if we'd like to put out a CD on '4subculture'. It was perfect timing and we couldn´t be happier. I think there will be 500 CD´s released and hopefully the response will be ok. I don´t think we'll ever be able to thank Pat enough either.

5. Can you shortly introduce the new album? Songs, sound, topics of the lyrics, etc...for people who don´t know you to make a short advertisement?

This will be All In Brawl's first full length/proper release, it will have 14 songs of hard, pissed off, angry 'oi-core'. The songs are short and to the point. We sing about the stuff that pisses us off, be it the Canberra 'scene', political correctness, shitty parents and the general shitheads of society. There are also a couple of songs about loyalty to friends and family and 2 covers.

6. Can you describe the scene in Canberra? I know bands from Australia and many are also interviewed on my zine... Plan of Attack said that the Canberra has more HC scene... so can you describe some new bands, crews, pubs, venues, zines...?

Yeah the Canberra scene has its ups and downs and at the moment we are starting to recover from a pretty low point. There were hardly any venues to play at and even fewer good bands worth seeing. We are starting to see some good hardcore bands take off though - Eye-Gouge fucking rule! and there are some other young bands getting it right. As far as punk/oi goes, there is not much. We are pretty much it really... Don´t even get me started on the 'crews' here, a bunch of elitist fuckheads who hop from trend to trend, then there are the vegans who won´t let you into there shows if you´re drinking non-vegan beer. What the fuck! Then there are the few people who just go to shows to listen to music and be with their friends - generally they're the people who turn up to our shows.

7. What about the gigs, do you like playing live? And do you plan some gigs to promote your new album?

Yeah we love playing live! We struggle to get shows in Canberra - the whole skinhead stigma makes people a little un-easy. We played a lot in Sydney last year with THUG and a couple of other locals, they were excellent shows - lots of sing-a-longs and dancing. And we hope to play some more out of town shows this year - head down to Melbourne and maybe up to Brisbane.

8. Are you listening to bands from Europe or US? And do you know anything about Czech Republic?

I have been listening to Evil Conduct non-stop at the moment, I have also been getting into Concrete Gods, Stamford Bridge and the new Perkele as well. I really don´t know much about the Czech Republic, but was blown away when i looked at the 4subculture website and just how massive it is. I'll make a point of looking up some Czech Republic bands!

9. Plans for the future...

We are heaps excited for the new cd and seeing what people think of it, hopefully if it does well we will look at putting out some new stuff on vinyl. We should have shirts and other merch ready for the release as well. We've written some new stuff with the new guitarist Jacob and look forward to playing live as soon as we can.

10. Words on the end.....

Massive thanks to Michal for making this happen for us. And also to Pat for sending over our demo and being an all-round top guy. Thanks to Peddy and Backstreet Battalion zine and anyone who buys our cd when it comes out. Cheers!
