1. Hi so at first can you introduce your band, members (hobbies, age, work…) and tell us how you met each other?

Hi Peddy, at first I would like to say cheers to you and to the readers of your zine. Line up of Bloody Mary is – vocals and guitar by me (Rorýsek), solo guitar and vocals – Roman "Buco" Bugna, bass Patrik (nicknamed Jung alias Benjamin) and Freedy behind the drums. I am cook, Buco is plumber, Jung is student and Freedy is tattoo artist.

2. When and why you decide to start a band and why the name Bloody Mary?

The band was found in 2012 by me and Roman because we are sick of boredom. It was on the last gig of Blitzkid in our city – Brno. I met Buco (I know him for long time) on this gig, we chat together and it was done so we were looking for people and rehearsal room. I forgot to mention that it was during autumn. It was not too easy at the beginning. All drummers played in other bands and we weren´t interested in greenhorn drummers, because we figured that we want to play Blitzkind style and that´s why you need experienced member. After few attempts we found our own rehearsal room and alsu drummer called Pišta. I played bass at that time and this line up played till autumn 2013. Then came bass player Martin and I started to play guitar and in December we recorded demo record – four tracks which was also on our later album Vycházíme vstříc. We started to do gigs but also some troubles occurred which made Pišta and Martin to leave the band. Martin helped us to make a regular record in may/june 2014. Also ex-drummer of Zeměžluč and Mad Pigs helped us. During the summer came to us Freedy and Jung.

Bloody Mary name was founded in bar when we were chating about possible name and after many beers and shots bartender found out the name Bloody Mary. We liked it so we used it. I will play in woman clothes one time hehehe.

3. Have your members any experience with playing in other bands?

Each of us played somewhere so we know how to play our instruments so it didn´t take too much time. We didn´t play too much around this Christmas time so we have to work harder in the future.

4. This year was released album called ...vycházíme vstříc, tell us some details about the recording, songs and album production?

Album was recorded in great studio called Sonidos with great sound engineer who became our friend. This man knows how to work and he is expert in his field so do not hesitate and contact him. As I said drummer Samuel (ex Zeměžluč and Mad Pigs) work with us on this album and it was good choice because our ex-drummer will never make it. In studio we recorded 10 songs during 78 hours so it was not too easy job. But the result is OK I think…Album was released in 300 copies.

5. Album was released in DIY style…do you have any special reason for this?

Yes it was released in DIY because no one wants to release us hehe…no seriously. I think this is normal in present times of copying and downloading the music because running the record label is quite ungrateful job and we are not well known band. So there is no extra reason to make it in DIY.

6. You have also shot two clips to your songs…tell us something about it…who make a blueprint, who shot it and how expensive it was?

Yes we have two clips and we want more. The first one is to the song Nesouhlasím (I Disagree) where we speak about the fact that we are not into religion and we have quite negative attitude to it. We also sing that this is our best song so making a clip I s a just for us. Fight club Brno (second clip) was shot in my club where I train and beat my soul out of me under the leading of my friend and coach Lukas Wolf. He asked me if we could make an anthem and he will pay the shooting of the video and we will have an advertisement in places which are not too usual for punx and skins. Locations for the first video were chosen by me and a friend of mine who shot it and Fight Club Brno was shot by friend of Lukas. The prize stays in secret if you do not mind.

7. What are your musical influences and idols…In your album I can hear many punk rock, rock´n´roll and also some horror lyrics…

There are many musical influence sand idols… Metallica, Guns n Roses, Misfits, Blitzkid, Billy Idol, Madball, Agnostic Front, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, Turbonegro, Johny Cash, Zona A, Slobodná Europa, SPS…and many more. Each of us like some kind of specific music. I also like other parts of music besides punk rnr,oi, hc. Man should listen to many kinds of music to have survey. Our lyrics are horror because we want to cross to horror punk genre in the future. We really like Blitzkid and we want to play as good as they play. I call theese horror lyrics funny sad poetry. My voice is influenced with r´n´r because I really like this kind of music and musicians like Presley, Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran, Bill Haley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johny Cash of course…

8. What about the gigs…do you have some kind of tour to the CD release or release party?

We played a few gigs and I have to admit, that people like it but we didn´t have many invitations yet. We played no tour because we´ve just started. Release party was during the June od last year in the pub called Kaverna and it was about the friends and mates.

9. How can we order your stuff or contact you about the possible gig?

You can contact directly me or the band - facebook (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bloody-Mary/1417920765125659?fref=ts), bandzone (http://bandzone.cz/_71267) or handy +420 724 749 826.

10. Where can we go in Brno on some beers or shots or gig?

In Brno we have many good pubs for drinking. Our home is U Srdcí in Královo Pole. The gigs are in clubs Melodka or Kabinet Múz. Sometimes also in club called Favál.

11. What about your requirements for the gig?

We want fuel money, booze and food and if we can sleep somewhere it will be good. Special requirements on the place :-).

12. I saw you in November 2014, how you like that gig?

You mean the gig in Brooklyn club organized by Operace Artaban. We like it but we were nervous little bit because it was our first gig organized by skins but I think it was OK, also you tell us some kind words after the gig. I like these actions but other boys have premiere. But definitely we were satisfied. Today is modern to solve nonsense which aren´t related to the music and the scene is divided because of this. Brno is famous for this fact in whole republic. There are many groups of people, skins are called Nazis and others are called junkies or posers who have nothing to do with punk rock. But we fuck this…we are denying left and right…both is extreme and we are not into it.

13. What are your plans for the future…

Plans for the future are clear…play, play and play again. Make some singles and also new album and hope that there will be more gigs for us (maybe some outside of CZ). We are also planning to add female vocal in some songs.

14. Words to the end…

Thanks a lot buddy for the interview, we are glad for it. We wish to you and to all readers of BB all the best to the New Year and also more people like you who are active. We want to thanks tou our families and girlfriends and our mates for support. We hope that we see each other on some gig. And one more advice…fuck politics and other bullshit. We are small community and it is not necessary to divide it because of this… Bloody Mary Freak Rebels!!!
