1. Hi so can
you introduce your band, members, age, hobbies etc..and tell us how you met
each other?
We are João (vocals), Vagner (guitar), Robson (drums) and Rattus (bass) and
have between 27 and 33 years old. We all work hard and we all are in to
football, music, friendship, beer and more beer... Some of us have other
projects, labels, etc. We met each other in the Skinhead scene a long time ago.
2. When and why came decission to start
the band and what does mean Faccao Opposta? Did any of your members played in
any band before?
The band started in 2007 because there was no Oi! bands in Portugal and we need
to make a stand and also have a good time playing what we really love. The name
means Opposite Fraction. João and Robson had some small and short projects,
Rattus is the guy with more experience and play in bands as Albert Fish, Crise
Total, etc...
3. What are your musical influences and
who is responsible for writing music and lyrics? What are your songs about?
Main influences are British and French Oi! from the 80's. All the members
participate in songs and lyrics. It´s a team work.
4. You have a split CD with Brazilian
band Mao de Ferro...how do you came to it?
We have a friend in common so we start talking and come with the idea...
5. How are you satisfied with the
record, record labels and do you plan to release it as a vinyl?
Yes, we are happy with the CD. It had a Brazilian edition by Dunkel Records and
a European edition by Zerowork Recs (Portugal), Can I Say (Portugal) and
Bruised Knuckles (Finland). It was also released a single vinyl by True Force
Records (Spain) with Skinheads/Anti-Hippie songs, limited to 150 copies (100
with a cover and 50 with another) that is already sold out!!
6. Can you tell us something about the
scene in your country and city? Pubs, bands, crews, zines etc..? I know only
Guarda de Ferro and Mata Ratos from your country.
Portugal has a very very small scene. It´s based mainly in Lisboa and Porto.
Beside Facção Opposta there´s Gume, other Oi! band friend of ours. Some Ska and
Mod partys, no zines, few labels and we have not personal pubs.
7. What about football? Are you
interested in fans, hools or ultras culture?
Yes!! João and Vagner are Benfica supporters, Rattus is a Sporting supporter
and Robson supports Palmeiras from Brasil, since he comes from Brasil.
8. Do you know anything about Czech
republic?
Yes... some of us have been in Prague and knew some people from there. I think
Bulldog magazine is finished no? Know bands like Orlik, The Protest,
Disdainful, Operace Artaban, Riot, etc.
9. Where can we order your stuff like
CD´s, t-shirts...etc?
You can ask at labels or directly to the band: myspace.com/faccaooppostaskinheads.
10. What should we do to organise your
gig? What are your requirements?
Well, we know the work organizing a gig gives, but if we come back home
without lose money that's ok for us!
11. Plans for the future?
We already have some new songs, and some split 7" planed to 2011. Some
contacts to play Spain and Italy also. Let´s see....
12. Last words...
Thank you very much for your interview and support. Keep Oi! clean from stupid
politics! Cheers and beers!
