1. So at first can you introduce your band, members, age, hobbies, job and tell us how you met each other?

Hi! Open Violence is Andy: guitar, Schulze: bass and vocal and Holm: drums. We´re between 35 and 45 years old, two of us are unemployed at the moment. We know us since the early / middle of 90´s. (the days of our youth, haha).

2. Current line up of Open Violence is the first line up of Kampfzone am I right? Some of your members play also in Last Riot? Can you tell us something more about both bands (Kampfzone and Last Riot) and why did you start Open Violence?

No, that´s not really right. Schulze and Andy are members of the first line up. I come 2 years later (in ´96) to Kampfzone. Schulze was not more an active member in this moment. Yes, Schulze and I are also just the two last members of Last Riot. For live playing we have now bass player. Studio etc. will be made by him and me alone. So, maybe some will think 3 members - two bands - a joke? But there are some differences in music and lyrics. Open Violence is more streetpunk and Last Riot more streetrock. I think you will hear a lot of differences.

3. Do you have any more experiences with other bands?

Yes, but I´m curious if you will find them for yourself :).

4. You released demo, split EP with Anti Clockwise and mini CD/LP Skinhead Rules, can you describe each release and tell us something about cooperation with Aggressive Zone Records (which isn´t well known label for me)?

Demo and split EP was more “do it yourself” and very limited. Demo CD was limited to 500 copies, (pressed CD) and the split EP to 150 hand numbered copies. Both were sold out after a few weeks. Aggressive Zone is a new label. All was fine with them.

5. You are preparing full length called Rock´n´Roll Blitzkrieg again on Aggressive Zone Records, can you make some advertisement on the album and describe the songs, lyrics, etc...?

Yes, the CD will be out in next month I think. There are 16 new tracks. Music is aggressive streetpunk! Most lyrics deal with social topics (violence, unemployment, lies of the politicians etc.) and also one party song (haha, actuality not our thing) and one cover from The Exploited. The album will be also released on vinyl - 500 hand numbered copies will be pressed.

6. Songs from your mini CD/LP Skinhead Rules reminds me old Kampfzone and Bombecks...which bands inspired you in your style? And do you prefer old or new breed bands?

Haha, we were all members of Kampfzone. And Bombecks were always come to the same studio that Kampfzone had check out and “tested” before. There are a lot of bands who have inspired us, from, Punk, Rock, HC to Metal from all around the world, from the 70´s up today!

7. Do you prefer CD or vinyl?

Hm, actually vinyl. But most albums you will get only on CD. So I collect both. If there is an album really great I also buy (!) CD and vinyl. Fuck off to the people who got their music just from internet for free!

8. Can you describe the scene in your area (Sachsen-Anhalt I suppose)? Crew, pubs, clubs, new bands worth hearing, labels, zines, etc...

There are some good new bands like Anti Clockwise or Rien ne vas plus. You will hear them sooner or later. Here are some pubs for live gigs etc. But it is not so easy to organize gigs if you´re not a PC Band. If yes you can go to a lot of festivals with the star – and PC bands I think. But I can´t tell so much about (my age :), wife, kids, job, dog etc…)

9. Where should we order your stuff like CD´s, LP´s, EP´s or t-shirts?

I think you can get the stuff by some good labels and shops in Europe (Pure Impact, Adler, 4u, etc...)

10. When we want to organise your gig, what should we do? What are your requirements?

Hm, a good room, good people, good beer and some money for coming to you etc.

11. Do you know something about the Czech republic? In general and also about the scene here?

In general just the things we´ve learned in the “socialist” GDR. In the early 90´s I went some times for holiday to Prague and some other cities but nothing real about your scene.

12. Plans for the future...

Sorry, not really. All is fine and I hope it will continue in this way.

13. Last words...

Thanks for enjoying Open Violence!
