1. So at first can you introduce your band, members and how you know each other?
Kroub is the Singer, Max - guitarist and Backing Vocal, Tripp – Drummer, and Elo – bassist and Backing Vocal.
Kroub and I ( Elo) knew Max, we are friends and have musical tastes in common. We wanted since a long time to make a musical project together. We had already shared a common project with “TIR GROUPE”. And we were at once naturally as well on the musical plan as for the fun.
Then, Max presented us Tripp, the drummer, we had never met before the first session of recording and that has at once to stick between us because we have all the same spirit!!! Make some music …
2. When and why came decision to start Carcereduro and why that name? What does it means?
Together, we wanted to make a project which rings celtic/metal and at the end of 2009, Max sent us songs that he had recorded in his bathroom !!! We were enjoyed and we began working on each of our quoted because nobody repeats was planned but a recording date for a first session was already fixed !!! And what is really excellent between us, there isn’t stress but just fun !!!
Why CarceredurO !! Needed to find a name, there passed well !!! (Dixit Max)
For the meaning, to undergo “the carcere duro”, it’s to be obliged the work, to carried a chain in feet, to sleep on naked boards and live on the poorest food which we can imagine …
We find that this name is enough join with the spirit of the album (words and music)
3. Did any of your members play in any band before Carcereduro?
Kroub and I play in HAIRCUT (Singer and Bassist again) since ten years now, as for Max, he played in many groups such as NOBLAZ with Tripp, West Side Boys, KEROZEN, URBAN CREW and I certainly have to forget it!!! It’s a real machine to play guitar !!!
4. Your first album will be released in few days, can you describe your sound, musical influences, themes of lyrics and make a small advertisement on it?
The album "Every Time has its Heroes" in English, has to go out for November 2010.
Our sound reflects well enough what we listen, melodies with Celtic influence, with a touch of metal, in fact, songs are rather different some of the others. We wanted to join a song with violin (a cover by Enhärjarna) and a song more stroll with a feminine singing.
Our words, as says the title of the album speak about various heroes who marked our spirits: the Scandinavian warriors and their legends, the French or Scottish fighters.... those who defied the death for their ground homeland.
5. Who is responsible for making music and lyrics?
It’s mainly Max who makes the music and the words, except "Premier amour", it’s David ex-drummer of URBAN CREW and " In the wind ", by Elo. But I admit it, it’s Max who works most in the band !!!!
6. Your album will be with cooperation of BDS and Pure Impact records....why do you choose these labels?
We are very satisfied that they agreed to produce us !!! It’s two reference labels for us, and we know well their previous productions. We appreciate them for their work.
7. Can you describe the scene in your area, new bands worth hearing, pubs, clubs, crews zines etc...?
The scene in France is a little died in comparison with past, the bands which form today always consist the same persons almost. You will say to me as everybody knows!
At present, there’s of very good band like “Bombardiers” or “The New Chords”(ex-Véros).
In Paris, there’s a lot of very good pubs with different atmosphere, but we prefer to meet all together at buddies !!!
8. Is in France any band similar to your sound?
No, I don’t believe !!!
9. Where can we order your stuff like CD´s, T-shirts...etc..? And do you plan to release your debut also on vinyl version?
You can order our CD on Bords e Seine Records and Pure Impact. We would like very much produce this album on vinyl version but it’s not planned yet.
10. What should we do to organise your gig? What are your requirements and what about playing live? How many gigs do you have and do you like it to play live?
We have never made concerts with Carcere DurO as one repeat moreover!!! But why not??? If gigs appear, we are opened to any propositions …
11.Plans for the future?
We look forward to holding in our hands our album !! And we already begin to work on the other songs.
